Eric Katkow, DDS

shapeimage_1 (1)Eric Katkow, DDS, retired in March 2020 after a career treating patients for more than 50 years.  Dr. Katkow is a past president of the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.  He is a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. He is an active member of the Howard County, Maryland State, and American Dental Associations as well as the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Monumental Dental Study Club, and is a past president of the University of Maryland Dental School Alumni Association. He is still an active examiner for licensure applications for the CDCA (Commision on Dental Competency Assessments) and a former member of their steering committee, and served as the peer review chair for the Howard County Dental Association.

Dr. Katkow has lectured at the University of Maryland Dental School on ethical issues and leads ethics seminars for dental students. He has also served on the curriculum committee of the Dental School and mentors dental students.  He was a senior clinical consultant for The Dental Advisor for over 20 years.

Dr. Katkow has been named one of the “Best Dentists in Baltimore” in Baltimore Magazine based on voting by his peers. The practice has been named “Best Dental Practice” in Columbia and Howard Magazines in multiple years, and was recently honored by Washingtonian magazine and Washington Consumers Checkbook. In his free time, Dr. Katkow enjoys exercising (he has completed 40 marathons, more than 20 triathlons, and so far 15 ultramarathons—50 mile races!), spending time with his grandchildren, and traveling with his wife  Hattie.
